Description
The Canon RF 400mm F2.8L IS USM is a super telephoto prime lens for the R-series mirrorless camera system. The 400mm F2.8L is aimed at professional and enthusiast wildlife, sports and action photographers. This lens uses the same optical formula as the EF version and features 17 elements in 13 groups, with one super UD and two fluorite elements. Super Spectra and Air Sphere coatings (ASC).
Competent in low light with its large F2.8 aperture with upto 5.5 stops of image stabilisation.
Hand holding is more comfortable with the RF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM lens weighing 2890g, which at the time of launch is the lightest professional 400mm lens available for any mirrorless system.
The RF 400mm f/2.8L benefits from a dual power focus drive, which delivers faster uto focus. The lens also features a second power connection which allows the lens to draw more power from compatible camera bodies. This extra power is used to increase the USM speed for faster focusing, to let photographers gain initial focus more quickly whilst tracking faster moving subjects.
Mount the Extender RF 1.4x or the Extender RF 2x to achieve greater reach upto 800mm.
