Tokina recenty announced the new SZ SUPER TELE 500mm F8 Reflex MF lens. This lens is a compact alternative to standard telephoto lenses due to its constant F8 aperture and is ideal for those that want lightweight gear whilst travelling. This fully manual lens adopts the T-mount system which can be paired with different mount adaptors. The adaptors available for this lens are: Canon EF, Fujifilm X, Micro Four Thirds, Nikon F, Nikon Z and Sony E mount.
The outside barrel of the Tokina SZ SUPER TELE 500mm F8 Reflex MF is shaved thinner by using a new processing technology that makes this lens more lightweight compared to the lens with a shorter focal length. Weighing only 310g (without mount adapter) the Tokina SZ SUPER TELE 500mm F8 Reflex MF can be easily carried whilst travelling.
Lens elements inside the lens are coated with multi-layer anti-reflection coating for effective light intake and as a result, for increased shutter speed in low light conditions.
Macro shooting is possible. The field of view is 4°8' and a minimum focusing distance of 1.7m. With a magnification of 1:2.86.
Tokina says that the lens will be available starting on February 18, but did not include pricing.
