Venus Optics today announced the release of a new full-frame mirrorless lens, the Laowa 58mm f/2.8 2X Ultra-Macro APO. This manual lens will be available for 4 mounts (Sony E / Canon R / Nikon Z / L mount).
With a 40.9° angle of view this lens is able to focus from 2:1 magnification to infinity which can serve as both macro and portrait lenses. The lens construction consists of 14 elements in 11 groups which includes 3 extra-low dispersion (ED) glasses and 3 glasses with Ultra-High Refractive Index. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 18.5cm, weighs approx 595g and measures 74mm in diameter by 117mm in length.
