Leica has announced the M11 digital rangefinder camera, the newest member to the M-series line-up. The M11 uses a 60MP BSI CMOS sensor that uses Triple Resolution technology. This allows the camera to produce raw image files in DNG format and JPEGs at 60, 36 or 18 megapixels, always using the full sensor area.

A special IR + UV cut filter which comprises of two extremely thin, cemented layers of glass, achieve an effective correction of even the most oblique rays of incident light. Thanks to a new color filter array, the camera also offers an improved, more natural color reproduction.

The Leica M11 maintains the look of the traditional M-series cameras, but improved to focus on efficiency and ergonomics and also a new 2.3M-dot touchscreen.
